So you
want to be a Firefighter...
There is a great deal of excitement and a pride that
comes with being a volunteer at South Pierce Fire & Rescue.
The satisfaction, camaraderie, and experience received from
the fire service is often beyond compare. However, this work
is not for everyone. Firefighters need courage, dedication,
assertiveness, and above all a desire to help others in need.
Firefighters perform strenuous tasks that test their abilities
in uncertain and often hazardous situations.
Men and women
age 18 and older who are in good physical condition and have
the desire to serve as firefighters are eligible to apply. SPFRE
offers extensive training and advancement opportunities.
Our community and citizens rely
heavily on the services provided by our committed volunteers.
Whether it be extinguishing a structure fire, extricating a
trapped motorist from their vehicle, saving a life, or simply
taking a patient’s blood pressure, your experience at
SPFR will be unique and filled with variety and challenge.
